The custom of setting aside a day for playing harmless pranks on family, friends and co-workers stretches back to the Middle Ages. References to it can be found in most cultures. Since the mid-20th century, elaborate practical jokes have be printed in newspapers and broadcast on TV and radio. Computer technology, especially the Internet, has made it possible to fool and embarrass a wider audience than ever before.

I’m pleased to share her answers here instead of the special section. Our Farm and Field section is inserted in this week’s Trader. Copies are also available at the Register office.
