Janice “Jan” Lorraine Frommelt, 93, of Guttenberg, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at the Guttenberg Care Center.

Visitation was Saturday, Feb. 7, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg.

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Shane Anderson.

Interment was at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Guttenberg.

Donna Mae Adams, 82, of Garnavillo, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Guttenberg Care Center.

Visitation will be from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 15, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Garnavillo, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral service will be at Peace Lutheran Church in Clayton, at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 16, conducted by Rev. Hillary Burns-Kite.

Interment will be at Clayton Cemetery.

Jim Simmons

Jim Simmons, 72, of Guttenberg, formerly of Libertyville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by family after a sudden illness.

As were his wishes, Jim will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be scheduled at a later date.

Kim R. Newmister, 58, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home with the family she loved on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015. 

A celebration of life was held Thursday, Feb. 5, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Inurnment was private.

Visitation was Friday, Feb. 6, at Hockenberry Family Care Funeral Home in Atlantic.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 7, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Atlantic, conducted by Pastor Holly Smith. 

Private internment of ashes will be at the Atlantic Cemetery, Atlantic.

Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, Guttenberg, and one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 4, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Guttenberg.

Interment was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Our mother, Jeanette M. Berns of Guttenberg, died on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home. Mom had physical ailments over the years, but at 95 she passed away very peacefully.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Guttenberg.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Garnavillo.

Opal Y.  Kriesler, 87, of Cedartown, Ga., formerly of Colesburg, died on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Cedartown, Ga.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Colesburg United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will follow the visitation at the church, conducted by Pastor Joan Thomas.

Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Colesburg.
