Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville, Texas.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Colleyville, Texas.

2024 marks Guttenberg Industries' 50th year as a second-generation family-owned custom injection molder. They operate in a 105,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in Garnavillo producing complex, high-quality plastic parts for manufacturers all over the world using 38 highly automated injection molding machines.

As autumn arrives in the area, local organizations are gearing up for some popular annual celebrations in the area. 

On Saturday, Sept. 14,  the River Park Cruisers will sponsor their 26th annual cruise, show and music in Guttenberg. The show will be from noon to 1:30 p.m., and the cruise leaves at 3:30 p.m. Watch The Press for more details.

Cole Roger Wille, 25, of Garnavillo, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2024, at his home after a long battle with depression.

Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 25, at Morris Funeral Home in Garnavillo and before services at the funeral home on Monday.

Services were Monday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home, conducted by Father Moser.

Osterdock's Stockyard Restaurant and Fritzs Farmhouse will present a night of musical entertainment featuring country artist Cory Farley on Saturday, Sept. 7, at
Fritzs Farmhouse located at 33195 Garber Road on the outskirts of Guttenberg. Tickets are $25, and can be purchased in advance at eventbrite.com or at the door.

The show begins at 7 p.m. with opener Bill Stock. His fun show and over 250 song list is sure to please audience members.

GCY - Garnavillo Christian Youth group

Youth ministry, such as the Garnavillo Christian Youth group (GCY), works to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person. GCY is open to middle school through high school age youth from various parishes in the community along with kids who do not attend church.

St. Peter Lutheran Church in Garnavillo has taken an interest in the youth group and offered them a space to meet, a small budget, and provides assistance with camperships, etc.

Corps seeks comments on Pool 10 study

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is seeking comments on the draft Environmental Assessment, or EA, for the Bedload Sediment Collector Pilot Study in Clayton County, Iowa, and Grant County, Wis.

Pool 10 encompasses the Mississippi River from Lock and Dam 10 in Guttenberg upstream to Lock and Dam 9 at Lynxville, Wis.

Henry A. “Hank” Moser, 88, of Guttenberg, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at the Elkader Care Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, at Mount Harmony Cemetery in Garber, followed by a small luncheon at the Stadium in Guttenberg from 1 -3 p.m.
