When Prairie du Chien’s Common Council convened on Dec. 5, the main issue addressed was a public hearing to determine no public need for several properties owned by the city. A notice by the city was placed in the Courier Press in November to inform the public of the city’s intent to place four parcels on the market.
A preliminary layout of the replacement jail addition and existing Sheriff’s Office was given to the county to review. As November gives way to December, the Rotary Club will set to work like a cadre of elves on assignment from Santa’s workshop. Their mission, since they chose to accept it, will be delivering toys and other goods to families in the Prairie du Chien, Marquette and McGregor area.
