MFL MarMac seniors honored with awards, scholarships

MFL MarMac’s annual Senior Awards Night was held May 10 in the high school auditorium. The event recognized the achievements of the class of 2023 with disbursement of awards and scholarships as well as graduation cords.

Central art display featured at Rural Heritage Museum during May

Central student artwork from grades K-12 is now on display at the Rural Heritage Museum in Elkader. It’s the latest effort by art teacher Carlyn Lechtenberg to bring student art into public spaces around the community. The museum hopes it will bring younger people, including families, to the location.

Warrior girls qualify eight events for state track and field meet

Warrior Brooke Tieden cleared 4 feet, 10 inches in the high jump, earning first place and a spot at state.

Hannah Asche won the long jump—and advanced to state—with a distance of 16 feet, 3.5 inches.

Grace Kuehl (left), Lexi Loan, Tori Sylvester and Delaney Scherf make up the 800 sprint medley relay, one of four Central relays that qualified for state.

Jaydin Dettman has advanced to state in the 400-meter hurdles, one of four individual events the Warriors will participate in.

MFL MarMac boys will be represented in four events at state track meet
