Ardell (Troester) Dietzler, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home in Garnavillo. A service will follow at 2:30 p.m. 

She was born in Guttenberg, on Jan. 30, 1939, to the late Emil and Ruth Troester and grew up in Clayton County.

Douglas John “Digger” McGuine, of Guttenberg, passed away on June 21, 2025, surrounded by love and laughter—the very way he lived his life. Known for his unmistakable humor, contagious laugh, and signature phrase “cock-a-doodle-do,” he never missed a chance to stir the pot or lovingly aggravate someone just enough to make them smile.

Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg.  Visitation will continue Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, prior to funeral services.

Carol R. Gaul, 78, of Guttenberg, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center in Dubuque.

Visitation was Friday, June 20, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Holy Cross.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 21, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Luxemburg, conducted by Rev. Tyler Raymond.

Lee A. Horstman, of Davenport, formerly of Guttenberg, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Genesis Hospital in Davenport.

Visitation and Funeral services were Tuesday, June 17, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Lee was born on Oct. 12, 1965, in Dubuque, son of James and Ruth (Bolsinger) Horstman. He graduated from Edgewood-Colesburg High School.

Marlene J. McLane passed peacefully from her earthly life on Saturday, May 31, 2025. She lived enthusiastically and courageously until her final days, and those who knew her will remember her boundless spirit.

Visitation and funeral services were Saturday, June 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Rev. Marvin Bries will officiate with Rev. Paul Kwaku Ameyaw concelebrating. Deacon Jim Pfaffly will assist.

Visitation will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg. Visitation will continue Thursday morning from 9 - 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, prior to funeral services.

Janice “Jan” Louise Marting, 82, of Mason, Ohio, entered Eternal Life on May 20, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter, Gina (J.T.) Marshall of Mason, OH; her son, James (Sarah) Pettit of Minneapolis, Minn.; and five beloved grandchildren, Kathryn, Logan, and Alyson Marshall, and Isabella and Quinn Pettit; two brothers, Dale (Penny) Marting of West Chicago, Ill., and Merlan (Mary Lee) Marting of Dubuque; three Godchildren, Stacey Fowler of Martinez, Calif., Linda Moore of Amarillo, Texas, and Trent Marting of Dubuque; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services were Thursday, May 29, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, conducted by Pastor Bryan Kunz. Visitation was held before services.

Memorial services were Friday, May 30, at Trinity Methodist Church, Madison.

Burial was at Forest Hill Cemetery, in Madison.

Don J. Koss, 95, of Guttenberg, completed his earthly journey on May 10, 2025, at the Guttenberg Care Center surrounded by his loving family.

To honor Don’s life, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 23, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garnavillo, with Pastor Gary Hatcher officiating. Family and friends of Don are invited to join in fellowship from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
