Gerald H. Hoeger, 91 of Garnavillo, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg.

Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries with Rev. Steve Meyer concelebrating. Deacon Ron Meyer assisted. Visitation was before services at the church.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, Aug. 13, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 14, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Guttenberg, conducted by Rev. Marvin Bries.

Richard “Dick” Allen Owings, 75, passed away Aug. 10, 2023, due to complications of Myelodysplastic Syndrome, an auto-immune disease affecting the bone marrow. 

Visitation was Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Morris Funeral Home in Guttenberg.

A private funeral service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Burial was in the Guttenberg City Cemetery.

Gerald “Jerry” Ostrander, 75, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wis.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Prairie du Chien, Wis., and before services at the church.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 9, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Prairie du Chien, Wis., conducted by Rev. Hillary Burns-Kite and Rev. Miranda Kostaboer.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville and before services at the funeral home.

Funeral services were Wednesday, August 2, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, conducted by Rev. Chris Podhajsky.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a memorial celebration will be held on Aug. 26, 2023, at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Newbury Park, Calif. at 1 p.m.  

Interment will be at the Guttenberg City Cemetery in Guttenberg.
