Eileen Cecelia (Auer) Johanningmeier,

 

Eileen Cecelia (Auer) Johanningmeier, 94, of McGregor, died Friday, Aug. 26, at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Eileen was born on May 14, 1922, rural Garnavillo, to Edward and Josephine (Heck) Auer. She attended Walnut Grove Country School and St. Patrick Catholic School in Monona, through the eighth grade. Later in life, Eileen and her sisters went back to school and received their G.E.D. diplomas.

Roger A. Martin

 

Roger A. Martin of Monona, Iowa, died on Monday, Aug. 22, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader, Iowa, of esophageal cancer.

The son of Lester and Lena Martin, Roger was born on March 24, 1938. He lived in rural Maynard, Iowa, and graduated from Maynard Consolidated School in 1956.

Roger and Patricia Rueber of Westgate, Iowa, were married on Aug. 15, 1958, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Westgate. Two sons, William and Jeffrey, were born to the couple.

Eileen Cecelia (Auer) Johanningmeier, 94, of McGregor, Iowa, died Friday, Aug. 26.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Monona. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. before mass on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Monona.

Helen was born on March 6, 1921, rural Sny Magill, McGregor, Iowa, to Elmer and Leona (Hill) Hansen and attended country school.

Ricky “Rick” Lenth December 1, 1958 to July 11, 2016

Ricky Lee “Rick” Lenth, 57, of Monona, Iowa, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at Palmer Lutheran Hospital, West Union, Iowa. Rick was born to Virgil and Caroline (Ambrose) Lenth on December 1, 1958, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He was baptized January 11, 1959, and confirmed October 27, 1974, at Norway Lutheran Church, St. Olaf, Iowa. Rick graduated from Central High School in Elkader, Iowa in 1977 and earned his associates degree at NICC in Calmar, Iowa. Rick was united in marriage with Beth Burkey on August 20, 1983, at Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein, Iowa. To this union three children were born, Gregory, Alexander and Aimee. They later divorced.

Bettie M. Mueller

 

Bettie M. Mueller, 94, of Davenport, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at ManorCare Health Services-Utica Ridge. 

Bettie Marie DeHaven was born on July 11, 1921, in McGregor, Iowa, the daughter of Earle and Lucile (Edwards) DeHaven. In 1939, she married Fred Mueller in Independence, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 2012. Mrs. Mueller worked as a 911 radio operator for the Scott County Sheriff’s Department until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, Davenport, and enjoyed singing in the choir in her younger years. Bettie loved music and sang to her family and friends and the staff at ManorCare.

Thomas James Woods, 57, of Randalia, Iowa passed away at his home on Thursday, June 9.  

Tommy was born on Sept. 5, 1958 in Oelwein, the son of Thomas and Carolyn Woods. He grew up in Oelwein and graduated from Oelwein High School in 1977. He was married to Terri Neunsinger in December of 1978. Together, they had two daughters, Courtney and Rachel. They were later divorced.
