Gerald F. Haas

 

Gerald F. Haas, 74, of McGregor passed away Friday, Jan. 15, at the Crossing Rivers Hospice Facility in Prairie du Chien. 

He was born March 9, 1940 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Richard and Laurette (Marcue) Haas. Gerald served in the US Army and later retired from the US Coast Guard. He traveled the world and had been to both the North and South Poles. After his retirement he worked for the Department of Natural Resources and the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.

Beverly J. Dailey

 

Beverly J. Dailey, 73, of Prairie du Chien passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, at her residence in the Lori Knapp Group Home.  

She was born June 18, 1942 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Clem and Hazel (Graf) Dailey.  Bev was baptized into Christ and her faith was very important to her.  She and her mother traveled together many places until Hazel’s health wouldn’t allow it. She loved attending Camp Courageous and was a 15 year member of the Lori Knapp Inc. family. Bev touched many lives and anyone who ever associated with her learned something.

David John La Bonne

 

David John La Bonne, 76, of Vancouver Wash. passed away family by his side on Dec. 23, 2015, after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 9, 1939 in Crawford County to LeRoy (Rip) and Thelma Hooverson La Bonne.

He graduated from Prairie du Chien High school in 1958 and served in the armed forces for 3 years. On July 7, 1962 he was united in marriage to Karen Eadie of Waterville, Iowa. Two children were born of this union, Carmen (Fred)of Lake forest , Calif. and Scott (Becky) of Vancouver, Wash.

 Herman Wachter, 91, of Woodman, died on Monday evening Jan. 11, at the Fennimore Good Samaritan Society. 

Herman was born on June 2, 1924 in Midland, S. D. to Herman and Mertie (Kaiser) Wachter. He married Bernadine Freymiller on Oct. 20, 1946 in Prairie du Chien.

Patti A. Harvat, 52, of Wauzeka, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 10, at Crossing Rivers Health Care in Prairie du Chien, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 26, 1963 in Boscobel. The daughter of Dale and Bette (Ward) Curtis. She married Patrick Harvat on June 19, 1982 in Boydtown.

Arnie McCullick,

 

Arnie McCullick, 81, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Steuben, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 8, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, surrounded by his family. 

He was born in Crawford County, on Oct. 30, 1934 to Gerald and Bertha McCullick. He was raised on farms on Haney Ridge and in Seneca Township. He married Carmen Powers in 1955; four children were born to this union. They divorced in 1986.

Shirley J. Luebker

 

Shirley J. Luebker, 80, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Atrium Care Center in Lancaster. 

She was born June 18, 1935 in Woodville, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Albrightson) Engleman. Shirley graduated as valedictorian from Woodville High School in 1952. She graduated from UW-River Falls in 1957, being named in “Who’s Who In American Colleges and Universities.” At UW-River Falls, she met and married her soulmate, Gene Luebker on Feb. 11, 1956. After graduation, she and her husband taught in various school districts and eventually moved to southwest Wisconsin.

Norma L. Brown

 

Norma L. Brown, 93, of Bloomington passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, at the Prairie Maison Care Center. 

She was born Sept., 16, 1922 in Bagley, the daughter of Jesse and Iva (Gelstrup) McCollough, where she spent most of her child-hood years. She married Delbert Brown on June, 17, 1939. They lived in Bloomington, all their married life. Delbert preceded her in death on Oct. 14, 1985.
