Justin Reuter

Justin Kenneth Reuter, 30, of McGregor, Iowa, and formerly of Bloomington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the Guttenberg Hospital following his courageous battle with cancer. 

He was born Dec. 21, 1988, as Justin Kenneth Lange to Diane Lange, and later became Justin Reuter when Diane married Cory Reuter in 1993.

David K. Evans II

David K. Evans II, 48, of Marquette, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. 

He was born June 21, 1971, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of David and JoAnne (Everts) Evans. 

David owned and operated the Ole Sawmill Marina in Stillwater, Minn. He was also involved in various other businesses in the area. He was proud of his farm “Hunt More – Do Little.”

Linda Forst

Linda Forst, 56, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at UW Hospital and Clinics. 

She was born on Jan. 7, 1963, in Madison, the daughter of James and Sandy (Burr) Stanley.

Linda graduated from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in education. She married Keith Forst on May 7, 2011, at Olbrich Gardens in Madison and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Linda cherished her time as a kindergarten teacher at Elvehjem Elementary School for over 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and coaching bowling to the youth. She was a member of the Badgerland Youth Bowlers Tour, Rolling Thunder Inc., and Madison Bowling Board. Linda also enjoyed step class, reading, and being outdoors with her dogs, Digit and Reno. She loved animals and traveling with her husband.

Irene L. Mitchell

Irene L. Mitchell, 77, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. 

She was born May 28, 1942, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Garvey) Heisz. 

She married Fred Plondke and later divorced. She then married Wayne Mitchell on Nov. 28, 1987. Irene was a proud graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in 1960. Irene loved spending time with her grandchildren, spending time with her dog Lilly, watching the Packers and Badgers, and playing a good game of euchre.

Jerold J. 'Jerry' Matousek

Jerold J. “Jerry” Matousek, 67, of Prairie du Chien, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, surrounded by his family at Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien. 

He was born on Feb. 6, 1952, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Joseph and Elsie (Perrine) Matousek. He attended and graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1970. He married Judy Zable on Feb. 4, 1978, in St. Gabriel’s Church of the Holy Family Parish.

Edward F. Hall

Edward F. Hall, 74, of Potosi, passed away on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at MercyOne in Dubuque, Iowa. 

He was born on May 18, 1945, on the family farm, the son of Guerdon and Gila (Marcue) Hall.

Edward graduated from Platteville High School in 1964. After graduation, he worked on the family farm and worked construction with Burnham Construction. Edward was employed at John Deere Dubuque Works for a short time before his employment with Loudspeaker Component Corporation, where he worked for 38 years. On May 10, 1975, Edward was united in marriage to Karen Sedbrook at the Lancaster Congregational United Church Christ. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, and loving every day riding his Harley. Edward dearly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and talking “shit.” He will be greatly missed.

James 'Jim' McCabe

James “Jim” McCabe, 51, of Red Wing, Minn., died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019, at the Bayview Nursing Home in Red Wing. 

He was born Oct. 11, 1968, in Beloit, to James Leslie and Susan Elizabeth (Mazanet) McCabe. In 1986, he graduated from West Grant High School and then went on to attend the University of Wisconsin in Platteville for two years. In 1989, he married Pam Prochaska and they had a son, James Jr. They later divorced. He worked at various grocery stores and most recently at Duluth Trading Company. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and searching for morel mushrooms. He was a big Green Bay Packers fan, and really enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dog Bo.

Philip Murawski

Philip F. Murawski, 78, of Prairie du Chien, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019. 

He was born May 2, 1941, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Joseph and Sophie (Mucha) Murawski. 

He graduated in 1960 from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, Ill. Philip served in the U.S. Army during peace-time. He married Millicent Chulafich in Chicago, Ill., on Feb. 4, 1967. Philip enjoyed making people smile by telling jokes, visiting the casino and taking road trips. He spent numerous years working as a machinist in the manufacturing industry.

John R. Walker

John R. Walker, 70, of Eastman, passed away at Divine Rehab and Nursing in Fennimore, on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019. 

John was born on Oct. 3, 1949, to Charles and Anna (Mara) Walker. 

He was always ready with a smile and a joke. John loved playing pool and watching videos to improve his game and loved watching the live cattle auctions online. He was an avid watcher of the RFD channel, always watching tractor auctions, farming shows, and the trains rambling through the countryside. John developed a wonderful relationship with his hospice team from Crossing Rivers Health; they all were so wonderful, and he appreciated all the help they provided. He also developed great relationships with his team at Divine Rehab and Nursing Fennimore. Thank you all for his wonderful care.
