The Prairie du Chien American Legion Post 68 19U baseball team is regional champions. Their on-fire efforts in three games at Galesville over the weekend earned them the regional title as well as a spot in the Class A state tournament in Viroqua, July 28-Aug. 2.

The Prairie du Chien American Legion Grasshoppers 16U Junior Baseball Team hosted La Crosse Aquinas Monday evening for a twinbill at St. Feriole Island Ballpark. 

Aquinas defeated the Hoppers 5-2 in the opener.

Fourth-seeded Westby defeated host and third-seeded Prairie du Chien 7-2 in a WIAA Division 3 Sectional semifinal softball game on May 31. 

Prairie ended their season with a 20-7 overall record. They finished at 7-3 in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference.

Riverdale ends Seneca’s baseball season

Visiting Riverdale defeated Seneca 4-2 in a WIAA Division 4 Regional final baseball game on Wednesday, June 1.

Top-seeded Seneca fired up the offense in the first inning, when Ashton Swanson singled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run.
