Qualifying for State this year would be no small task, as the semifinals matched #5 ranked PDC vs. #6 ranked Lodi. These two teams met a few weeks ago in a dual, with Lodi prevailing with a 35-33 win. Both teams have several highly ranked individuals and returning State Placewinners/Qualifiers.

Prairie boys win three games

On Friday night, 2/4, the Prairie du Chien boys basketball team hosted the Platteville Hillmen for an important conference matchup. The Hawks jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game and continued to lead for the entire game behind their stringent defense and by valuing the ball on offense. Scoring was limited as PDC held the Hillmen to 25% shooting from the field as well as 21% from the 3 thanks in part to their improved zone defense. Offensively, the Hawks showed patience running their swing offense to hold their lead and build on it in the second half. The Hawks won the contest 59-45 for their second win in conference behind a very impressive 23/25 from the free throw line.
