The Prairie du Chien Blackhawks baseball team kicked off their 2025 season this past Friday evening when they hosted the La Crosse Central Riverhawks. After a scoreless top of the first inning by Prairie starting pitcher Abe Amundson, the Hawks took an early 3-0 lead thanks to two hits, two walks, an error and a ground out.

The lead would be short lived as the Riverhawks used two walks, two singles and a double in the top of the second inning to tie the game 3-3. Both teams seemed to settle down for the rest of regulation as the Hawks just missed a walk-off victory in the bottom of the seventh inning.
