Football Practice Underway

A former Prairie du Chien athlete has had a great summer of wrestling. Tyler Dow, 16, won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru on July 3 in the 152-pound weight class.

Junior American Legion


The Prairie du Chien Junior American Legion baseball team split a doubleheader versus visiting La Crescent Thursday. Prairie won the opener 6-5 but lost the nightcap 7-4. Above, Frank Cipra takes a good lead off of third in the first game.

Top seeded Prairie du Chien defeated visiting and fourth seeded Iowa Grant 12-3 in a Division 3 Regional Semifinal baseball game Wednesday afternoon. The game had been postponed from Tuesday due to rain. 

The Blackhawks erupted for 7 big runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Boscobel defeated host Prairie du Chien 7-5 in a Division 3 Regional softball game Tuesday afternoon. 

Prairie scored first with a run in the second inning to go up 1-0. 

Boscobel scored 3 runs in the top of the fourth and Prairie scored 1 in the bottom half as Boscobel led 3-2.

The Seneca High School softball team easily defeated visiting Kickapoo 14-9 in a Ridge and Valley contest Friday afternoon.

Seneca improved its record to 15-8 overall and 10-4 in conference action. 

Kickapoo fell to 3-14 on the season and 2-11 in the Ridge and Valley.

The Blackhawks scored 3 runs in the bottom of the second inning and erupted for 8 big runs in the third as they cruised to the win.

The Prairie du Chien girls soccer team played an outstanding game against River Valley on May 12 for parents night. 

The team started the evening honoring their parents with a carnation and a special thanks for all their support. These parents have raised some wonderful young ladies! The girls played with the heart and determination to make a strong stand against the conference leading team.
