Seneca defeated host Wauzeka-Steuben three games to none in a Ridge and Valley volleyball match Tuesday night. 

Seneca won by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-14.

Seneca will next host North Crawford on Sept. 27.

Wauzeka-Steuben will next host La Farge on Sept. 27.

Seneca/Wauzeka-Steuben routed visiting Wonewoc-Center/Weston 48-6 to win their homecoming game Friday night in Seneca.

SWS got on the board early on a 45-yard TD run by Hunter Aspenson (PAT good) to take a 7-0 lead.

Austin Hagensick scored on a 5-yard run and the extra point was good as the Blue-Golds went up 14-0 in the first quarter.

Prairie du Chien volleyball hosted the Richland Center Hornets on Tuesday night.  

The team fed off of a loud and energetic atmosphere, thanks to a great home crowd,  to finish with a win 3 sets to 2. The scores were 25-16, 25-20, 22-25, 17-25, 15-12.

Several area schools converged upon LaRiviere Park for the Prairie du Chien Invitational cross country meet on a relatively hot Thursday afternoon.

The meet is a bit different in that runners from different schools compete together on five teams called the Pacemakers, Voyageurs, Prairie Dogs, Lead Miners and Joggernauts. 

Many runners wore various colors of paint and designs on their faces and arms and it was a fun meet for all involved. 


2nd annual PdC Cross Country Youth Race set


The second annual Prairie du Chien Cross Country Youth Race will take place on Monday, Sept. 17 at 5:15 p.m. at La Riviere Park in Prairie du Chien. The youth race is open to all elementary-aged students from any school district. Middle school cross country races start at 4:30, so come out early, support your Blackhawks, and join the fun.

River Ridge runners do well

The River Ridge girls cross country team won the 10-school Goat Hill Classic in North Crawford on Tuesday. The girls finished with 31 points. The girls won the first ever plaque for River Ridge in cross country. The River Ridge boys team took second behind Wauzeka-Steuben at the Goat Hill Classic. Above are the River Ridge runners who won medals by finishing in the top 10. They are Glenna Marshall, Riley Klein, Faith Webb, Bradley Hoffman and Brett Kerscher. Platteville defeats PdC soccer

The Prairie du Chien boys soccer team hosted the Platteville Hillmen Tuesday night. It was Parents’ Night and at halftime parents of players and managers were introduced and thanked for their unending support and dedication to the players and the program.

Platteville took early control of the game, but the Blackhawks defense put up a tight wall and stopped the Hillmen attack including a penalty kick stop by goalie Ryan Thien. Late in the half, 44:05, Platteville found a crack in the Prairie’s defensive shield and slipped in the score to take a 1-0 lead at the half.

Golfers host Lancaster

The Lady Hawk golfers hosted their first conference match of the season against Lancaster on Aug. 30 at Prairie du Chien Country Club. Lancaster only had three players available for scoring so the match was unofficial. The Lady Hawk varsity had Gabby Ritchie, Macy Sander and Molly Peterson each card a 56 to lead team scoring. Sophie Miller added a 59 and Allison Kennedy a 62 for a four-person team score of 227. The Lady Hawks' next home match will be Thursday, Sept. 6 with a 4 p.m. start time.
