Prairie soccer team gains 3-2 conference victory

The Prairie du Chien boys soccer team kicked off Homecoming Week Tuesday night with a home win over the conference rival Richland Center Hornets.   

The teams sparred evenly the first 30 minutes of the game. At the 33-minute mark, a wet ball slipped through grasping goalie gloves to put Center on the board, 1-0.

River Ridge beat visiting Cochrane-Fountain City in a nonconference back and forth, high scoring football game in Bloomington Friday night. 

The Timberwolves got on the board first with a 51-yard run by Tyler Millin and a 2-point pass from Cole Crubel to Ryan Redman to grab an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. 

Blake Crubel scored on a 20-yard run and the 2-point run with 8:25 to play in the first period to increase the margin to 16-0.

The JV (Fr/So) team and the varsity reserve team both won their matches two games to one. What a great effort.

Platteville defeated Prairie’s varsity three games to none.

Fun At The Mississippi Mud Run


A log run provided one of the numerous obstacles for the Mississippi Mud Run Saturday.

Obstacles become even harder when participants are muddy and slippery.

Mississippi Mud Runners found this event to be tiring. Proceeds for this year’s Mississippi Mud Run go towards the Prairie du Chien FFA and volleyball programs, as well as Prairie du Chien Parks and Recreation youth programs.

River Ridge Has Victorious Homecoming

River Ridge blanked Highland 44-0 during the Timberwolves’ Homecoming football game Friday night in Bloomington.

River Ridge dominated the line of scrimmage on offense and defense, and had numerous big plays en route to the victory to improve to 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Six Rivers.

On Tuesday, the River Ridge volleyball team took on undefeated Benton on River Ridge’s home court. 

River Ridge won in five sets, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 18-25 and 15-8. It was a battle to the end with lots of great spiking, digs, and blocks.

PdC girl harriers are River Valley Invitational champions

The Prairie du Chien girls cross country team had another incredible race day on Saturday to win the River Valley Blackhawk Invitational.  

The girls came out on top of the field of 20 small-school varsity teams. Prairie du Chien earned 65 points to edged out fellow conference team, Lancaster, by just 5 points.
