45th Annual Run-Walk at Wacouta Aquatic Park Saturday

The 45th Annual Run/Walk was held Saturday, July 18 at Wacouta Aquatic Park under great conditions as 24 runners and walkers participated in this fun event. 

This year’s money raised once again went to Hoffman Hall’s facility improvements.

Prairie du Chien baseball players earn awards

Nine Prairie du Chien baseball players earned All Conference recognition for the 2015 season. They are, front row: Dylan Yeomans - First Team All Conference outfield, Michael Steiner - Honorable Mention, Ryan Garrity - Honorable Mention, Peyton Hall -First Team All Conference infield. Back row: Casey Hogenson - Second Team All Conference infield, Brogan Potter - Second Team All Conference infield, Brandon Check - Second Team All Conference outfield, and Chas Sagedahl - First Team All Conference pitcher. Missing: Brian McNett - Second Team All Conference outfield and Coach of the Year Mark Pedretti. The Blackhawks finished first in the Southwest Wisconsin Conference with a 10-0 record. They were 18-7 overall.

Team award winners included Michael Steiner, Co-Captain; Peyton Hall, MVP; Casey Hogenson, Co-Captain; and Drew Scott, Coaches Award. Missing is Jack Wasechek, Most Improved.

Four Seneca softball players earn All Conference recognition

Four Seneca softball players earned All Conference recognition for the 2015 season.

Taylor Redman, a senior, was named to the First Team.

Michaela Chambers, a senior, was named to the First Team.

Jena Konichek, a sophomore, was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

Haley Wall, a freshman, was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

Three Seneca baseball players named to All Conference Team

Three members of the Seneca baseball team earned All Conference recognition in the Ridge and Valley Conference for the 2015 season.

Junior Brady Fernette was named to the First Team.

Senior Eric Konichek was named to the First Team.

Sophomore Gavin Greene was named to the First Team.

PdC American Legion honors veterans

American Legion Fish Fry Feast honors area veterans

The Prairie du Chien Post 68 Junior American Legion Team won 13-3 in 5 innings over visiting Platteville on Thursday evening, July 2. Jon Dyer and Jacob Mallat combined for the win. 

Dyer also went 2x3 with an RBI. Drake Coleman was 2x3 with a double.

The new inductees to the Eastman Fast Pitch Hall of Fame and the newly named Friends of Eastman Baseball Park will be officially announced and honored during the Fourth of July celebration at Eastman Baseball Park at 4 p.m.

 

The 2015 honorees include Andy Meiller, Frank Harvat, Scott Feye, Cal Kramer, The Borgen family, and Brad Bay.

These grannies are on fire

Fireflies took third in Pool C granny basketball, defeating Honey Bees, 50-43 and the Firecrackers, 46-36 to take first place in the pool. They entered a single elimination tournament and defeated the Model T, 49-39, lost to the Hot Pinks, 36-40 and played the Late Bloomer for third place winning 36-35. The three-on-three team “Girls On Fire” defeated the Vets, 49-24, Classic Elite, 48-11, Flying Bees, 40-30 and Courtside, 48-20, for a first place finish. Sign up open for 45th annual run/walk

Get your tennis shoes and athletic gear out and start thinking about the 45th annual Run/Walk on July 18 at 8 a.m. 

 

Registration is available at the Prairie du Chien City Hall and online. The deadline to register  and receive a t-shirt is July 9, otherwise, participants may register at 7:30 a.m. the day of the event.
