Wapsie Valley ends MFL MarMac's baseball season

Senior Max Havlicek, along with incoming freshman Jacob Schellhorn, threw a combined five-inning no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Clayton Ridge/Central on July 5. The Bulldogs also shut out the War Eagles 4-0 in game two of a doubleheader. (Photos by Audrey Posten)

Karter Decker drew three walks, stole a game-high three bases and scored three times in MFL MarMac’s game one win over Clayton Ridge/Central on July 5. He also had a big night in the team’s July 10 postseason opener against Wapsie Valley, driving in the game-tying two runs in the sixth inning. The Bulldogs eventually lost 10-7, however.

Shortstop Kaden Stocker makes a throw to first base in MFL MarMac’s July 5 doubleheader sweep of the War Eagles. Stocker had a good week for the Bulldogs, capped off by a three-run homer in the Class 1A Substate 2 first round game against Wapsie Valley.

Jacob Schellhorn was the other half of the pitching duo that no-hit the War Eagles on July 5.

Chauncy Drahn singled, stole two bases and scored three times in game one of a doubled headed against the War Eagles last week.

Ben Krambeer throws from second to first, securing an out against Clayton Ridge/Central on July 5.
